The Essential New York Times Cookbook: The Recipes of Record

First published in 2010, The Essential New York Times Cookbook presented the best recipes featured in the newspaper. Former Times food columnist Amanda Hesser combed through the paper's archives, solicited favorites from readers, and cooked, cooked, cooked. Where necessary she revised recipes to account for changes in ingredients and kitchen equipment.
And now Hesser has revisited all that work, expanding the book by 120 recipes, taking into account the Times' recent hugely popular cooking section, and paying more attention to recipes which came from cooks and cultures who were not a part of the mainstream culinary world.
Great NYT names such as Craig Claiborne, Molly O'Neill, and Melissa Clark are here, and so are the likes of Edna Lewis, Mashama Bailey, Von Diaz, Anissa Helou, Ken Hom, Anita Lo, Maangchi, Zarela Martinez, Samin Nosrat, Tejal Rao, and Tunde Wey.
A worthy update.
