Éditions Robert Laffont, 1979. Hardcover. Very Good. Signed.

Ma Cuisine du Soleil (1979) is one of the nearly 30 volumes published by Robert Laffont between 1976 and 1987, promoting the chefs and restaurants leading the French nouvelle cuisine movement—broadly categorized as lighter fare with refined presentation—emerging in the latter half of the 20th century.

Chef Roger Vergé (1930–2015), whose French Riviera restaurant Moulin de Mougins had achieved three-Michelin-star status by the time his volume was published, highlights the fine Provençal cuisine his diners enjoyed.

Between the restaurant’s proximity to Cannes and the general star-studded draw of the Riviera, it is easy to imagine tanned wealthy and glamorous types enjoying dishes like lobster in a Sauternes cream sauce, saffron risotto, quail baked inside a potato, or black cherry clafoutis. Impressive stuff.

Our copy is totally clean and unmarked inside. Overall, Very Good condition with foxing about the edges. Slight musty smell. No jacket, as issued. Color photographic inserts. In French. Signed copies, like we offer here, are scarce.
