by Mimi Sheraton
Here is a sweet little (4.75” x 7.75”) book that understands the importance of making a strong first impression.
Not one to shy away from a good challenge or an adventurous food experience, Sheraton presents us with many appetizers outside of the norm for the genre. Some piquing our interest:
- Armenian-style artichoke hearts, steamed with onions, potatoes, and dill
- Meatballs paprikash—scented with paprika and caraway, stewed in a tomato and sour cream sauce
- Curried lobster quiche
Charmingly illustrated, Hors D’Oeuvres and Canapes makes for a great gift. Our first printing copy is in Very Good condition, clean and unmarked. The top edge bears small cracks from a minor bump, but the structural integrity remains sound. The price-clipped jacket is shelfworn and missing a small sliver at the head of the spine; otherwise, Very Good.
