This attractive collection of contemporary pastries, plated desserts, showpieces, and sweet snacks is the work of of a Parisian pastry chef who worked in some of the city's great restaurants before opening her own shop, Delicatasserie.
Nina Metayer's career includes time in the pastry kitchens of Le Meurice and Le Grand Restaurant de Jean-Francois Piege. She seems equally at home with classics such as babka and tarte citron as she is with a galette intricately decorated to resemble the great window of Notre-Dame or the floral masterpiece of lemon sponge, cassis confit, and deep rose-tinted white chocolate ganache which graces the cover of this book.
La Delicate Patisserie captures the spirit of one of today's creative young French pastry minds while offering the instruction necessary to execute her ideas far from the banks of the Seine.
