Bittman’s track record with his How to Cook Everything books has been more than impressive: accessible, dependable collections that serve as basic references and demystify fundamental techniques. While baking has been a part of all the earlier books, here he dives deeply into his material, tackling everything from banana bread and pancakes to soufflés and even bran flakes for those who are inclined to the title literally. It’s hard to imagine something this book does not contain.
