This is the debut issue of dhoop, a vibrant food magazine from an Indian perspective, taking its name from the Hindi word for sunlight.

In the words of editor and founder Rini Singhi, it engages in "conversations around food, nature, culture, sustainability and design."

Compact in format (5.25" x 7.75", 84 pages), it has a nimble visual appearance featuring photography, many styles of illustration, essays, and recipes. Through these various forms we explore the streets of Jaipur and the market vendors who populate them, savor the heady scent of desi gulab, the oil of Damask roses which is used in desserts and beverages, make a curry from jackfruit seeds and raw mango, and more.

Dhoop is designed and printed in India, and supplies for this inaugural issue are very limited. We do not expect to be able to obtain more once our initial shipment has been exhausted. However, a second issue is on the drawing boards, expected sometime in late 2023.
