The third issue of this zine dedicated to stories about dumplings and the people who make them began when editor Leah Mennies asked whether dumplings can be considered works of art.

The lines between art and craft, design, utility, and expression are rarely clear in any human pursuit, but as this issue makes clear, it doesn't mean they should not be examined.  In this issue that can mean ceramic sculpture, the effort to preserve dumpling-making traditions of the Thai royal household, hand-carving wooden ravioli molds, a comparison of industrial and hand-made rouyan, a Fujianese dumpling wrapped in pork pounded with sweet potato starch, and a photo survey of dramatically shaped and colored dumplings from Italy, India, Hong Kong, Estonia, Mexico, Japan, Thailand, and elsewhere.

There's more happening here, but the above should give you an idea of the depth of this compact, 72-page exploration.

Paperback. Color photographs and illustrations throughout.
