In their own words "The Preserve Journal is an independent print magazine dedicated to the exploration of a more sustainable, resilient, and responsible food culture. With it we wish to invite our readers to look beyond the bite of food on their fork, and to see the whole picture of their meal and their role in it."
Contributors address this mission in a variety of circumstances and from many different perspectives. For instance, this issue, coving Autumn/Winter 2020-21, includes a discussion of creating a community farm in North London, the effect of bushfires on Australian agriculture, the commercial pressure to replace ancient Turkish olive groves with pomegranate plantations, and a love letter to wasps.
As a sign that The Preserve Journal takes its readers' possible interests seriously, many article are accompanied by endnotes and suggestions for further reading.
