Some dishes one might have sampled aboard are leg of lamb with mint sauce, creamed spinach, and fried potatoes; sorrel soup; fillet of sole with béarnaise; tripe Génoise; and green corn fritters with guava jelly, artichokes, and sauce Maltaise.
The SS Bremen was a high-speed liner commissioned in 1928, serving the Norddeutscher Lloyd line. The menus show heavy wear and soiling, but are fully legible and attractively designed with text in both English and German. 6” x 8.25” and 5.5” x 9.5”.
