This small, very short-run volume (is it a zine, is it a book, does the label matter in this case?), highlights artists and food producers who, in the words of editor Clare Lagomarsino provide "first hand accounts of rural queer experiences. The contributors blur the line between agriculture and food, and are largely located outside of the NYC/LA food industries. These people are farmers, ceramicists, artists, cooks, and writers. In this increasingly digital age, it's important that their work, and all queer work, lives in a dedicated, tangible print space."

The contributors are:

  • Lesbian Herstory Archives
  • Lucecita Cruz
  • Meech Boakye
  • Julia Turshen
  • Mika Shibuya
  • Bridget Gettys
  • Emory Hall
  • Jen Rowray
  • OK Sea Salt (Onya and Kim)

Just 66 pages and spiral bound, Queer Earth Food ranges widely from practical advice on land ownership for would-be farmers (don't make an offer before the septic system has been inspected!) and running a food collective to poetry, a recipe, and a photo essay.

Our copies come from a printing of just 100. The publisher's proceeds benefit a farm fund for queer/trans kids in New Mexico.

Color throughout.
