Now in its expanded fifth edition!
Since it was first published in 2004, this book has been an enduring success, expanded by its author with each reprint, as she responds to its enthusiastic reception among people for whom it evokes childhood memories of family and friends.
Erisbelia Garriga, born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, completed her graduate studies in New York before working as an educator and administrator here in the city. A cook since childhood, she gathered recipes from family cooks she admired, as well as generous friends. With an eye to adapting them to modern kitchens and schedules, she tested and refined them for this book. In the cases of beloved but sometimes intimidating recipes, such as pasteles, she provides step-by-step photo sequences to aid in assembling them. With more than 200 recipes and 400 photos, and recipe names in English and in Spanish, this is the work of a true home cook who wants to help other home cooks.
Hardcover. Color photographs throughout. In English.
