Summer 2025 Cookbook Club: La Dolce Vita, One Dish at a Time
Imagine zipping along the Amalfi coast in a classic cinquecento, the scent of sunbaked citrus in the sea air and a chilled glass of local white wine waiting at the end of the road. While that may still be a dream, this summer’s cookbook club offers a delicious way to bring the spirit of Italian summer into your own kitchen.
Led by chef and educator Annette Tomei—who brings decades of culinary and teaching experience to the table—our seasonal club combines hands-on cooking with rich cultural exploration and an engaged community of fellow cooks from across the country.
This summer’s theme is a celebration of Italian food culture, built around three (or four!) thoughtfully chosen books. The club meets online from 7:00-8:30 pm on Tuesdays (dates below)

July: Pasta by Missy Robbins:. July 8 and 22

August: The Land Where Lemons Grow by Helena Attlee. A reading-only selection. August 5 and 19

September: Choose Simply Tomato by Martha Holmberg or Pesto by Leslie Lennox—or dive into both. September 16 and 30
Each month, members receive:

One featured cookbook (with the option of two in September)

Menu “assignments” and additional curated materials from Annette

Two 90-minute live Zoom discussion sessions per month (recorded for later viewing)

A monthly Q&A with an author or guest expert (live or pre-recorded)

Access to a private, moderated Google Classroom for ongoing conversation and support
