Paul Feig pivoted from directing popular television shows (The Office) and films (Bridesmaids) to producing an Instagram series on cocktails when the pandemic trapped him at home.

In this urbane and witty collection of 125 recipes, Feig dispenses advice on everything from making sure a cocktail party is fun, even for you as the host, to mixing and pouring the drinks he thinks are your need-to-know cocktails.

Some are classics and more than a few were surprises to us, but Feig delivers them with some great stories, as well as a suggestion of the right song to pair with them. And to be honest some of the songs are surprises to us, too.  Which is one way of admitting we’ve never drink a Corpse Reviver #2 while listening to Xavier Cugat.
