A companion piece to Alessandro Masnaghetti’s Barolo MGA, The Barolo Great Vineyard Encyclopedia, this second volume serves as an in-depth atlas of the Barolo region. Masnaghetti covers the human and environmental changes affecting Barolo over the last century and details all the climatic influences and harvest dates of every vintage since 2000.  The volume also includes two large format maps depicting the Barolo crus as they were in 1970 and as they are officially classified today.  The book itself contains comprehensive, colored vineyard maps, charts, and graphs.

Masnaghetti’s journalism background shines through in the meticulousness with which he has investigated the producers, crus, and terroir of Barolo. But do not be deterred, prose-lovers; Masnaghetti’s command of language is as delightful as his proclivity for map making. The side by side translation of the original Italian and English make for an intriguing read and format.

Hardcover. Written in both English and Italian. Maps and charts in color, including a separate portfolio of three folded, large-format (33″ x 23″) maps: The Official Crus The Crus of Barolo as They Once Were; The Map of the Harvest Periods, No photography.

An updated edition of Volume I of this set, mentioned above, is expected in late Spring, 2019.
