OP: (photograph) Blancke and Co. Dairy and Restaurant (1893)
10” x 8.25” photo mounted on a 12.5” x 9.25” mat, featuring Bancke & Co. Dairy and Restaurant at 97 Cedar St. The road is handsomely paved in cobbles with an empty wagon on the Trinity Pl. side. Barely visible down the block on Cedar are two young boys facing each other while hanging onto a stairwell railing. Across the street are several figures—two capped men appear to be chatting outside of another business advertising lager while a blurred figure passes them on the sidewalk. The elevated 9th Ave. IRT line is just visible on Greenwich in the background.
The mat is crudely cut, but the photo is in nice shape, missing a small sliver of the gloss on a lower corner.
