Published twice a year, Nez explores the world around us via our sense of smell. It provides an insight into the vital role that olfactory sensations play in our lives. This novel approach encompasses art, literature, science, history, food, and perfume. While a large proportion of each issue is obviously given over to fragrance and perfumery, the relationship between scent and taste is inescapably part of the magazine as well.

This issue explores the ways that scent conjures the past and helps us imagine the future. We learn of a museum in Denmark which recreated a fragrant balm used to mummify an Egyptian noblewoman. A feature explores the poetry and fiction of Anna de Noailles (1876-1914) whose "oeuvre is among the most fragrant in French literature."

Marc-Andre Selosse of the Museum of Natural History in Paris explores the way that scents connect the fungal world, and we find an investigation into the ways that perfumers, like chefs, sometimes return to classics while seeking fresh inspiration.

Paperback. Handsomely designed with full color throughout.
