This is a slender (64 pages), small-format (5” x 6.25”) book with recipes, a few line drawings, and meditations about the end—and therefore also to some degree about the beginning and height—of a queer love affair.
Nina Katz, who has contributed to various food magazines, writes with moving immediacy and attention to small, revealing detail that makes simple gestures resonant and helps colorful flourishes seem essential.
The recipes arise from the narrative. They are simple, sometimes slightly surprising, but they do assume you like to cook as well as to eat.
