Outside the corporate tourist revelry of downtown Nashville, people cook dinner at home for their families. We follow artist Marlos E’van as they share meals with friends in various neighborhoods.

Bold photographs depict the urban food landscape in contrast with the intimate home kitchens of their subjects. E'van animatedly captures the step-by-step processes of making well-loved dishes like Iprax aka Dolma, Buttermilk Biscuits, and Blue Cheese Potatoes Au Gratin.

Marlos E’van received their BFA from Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film in 2016. From street art to canvases; from performance art to filmmaking, E’van interweaves different mediums to create worlds in which their art lives and has caught recognition from such publications such as Hyperallergic and Native Magazine. In addition to their work as an artist, E’van cofounded/co-organizes M-SPAR, McGruder Social Practice Artist Residency, out of a family resource center in North Nashville.

Attractively printed on glossy, heavy card stock and bound with a zippy yellow plastic spiral, the book has full-color photographs throughout.
