This is an imaginative and helpfully clear guide to advanced and inventive home preserving from the author of mrswheelbarrow.com and a contributor to publications such as The Washington Post and The New York Times. Although preserving methods such as canning and salt curing are explained in full detail, Barrow doesn’t spend much time on the basic recipes easily found elsewhere: she’s interested in exploring the likes of caramel pear preserves, juniper pickled cocktail onions, and whole smoked chickens. So even if you have a few preserving books already, you may find more than enough here to re-kindle your enthusiasm.
Color photographs throughout. Hardcover.
