The Cookie of Our Dreamsis an appealing and friendly collection of recipes developed and collected by our colleague Deborah Dupont, owner of Librairie Gourmande in Paris. Although we might flatter ourselves that Americans know a thing or two about cookies, this is a fresh array of good ideas that includes contributions from some of France’s best cooks and bakers, including Christophe Michalak and Greg Marchand.
Among the cookies that caught our eye: walnut cookies topped with caramel andfeuillantine, a chocolate cookie with hemp and biuckwheat, a sablé flavored with chestnut and orange, and even a beet and ginger cookie.
