There’s a rhythm to Italian summer that moves more slowly but somehow feels richer. A breeze through terracotta towns. Sunlight dancing off vineyard hillsides. Tables under olive trees, scattered with grilled vegetables, cured meats, golden focaccia—and glasses clinking with cold, bright wine.

Join our very own Chef Annette Tomei—who is also a certified Italian Wine Scholar—for an
exploration of her favorite Italian wines of summer. Journey far beyond your standard
sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, and generic rosé to the land of over 350 white wine grape
varieties, a bouquet of vibrant rosati (Italy’s word for rosés), and a bushel of light-bodied reds that can handle a chill.

You’ll learn why you should look to Italy for an abundance of white and light-bodied wines that go with all your favorite foods of summer. You’ll experience Annette’s “infectious enthusiasm” for the culture, history, science, and fascinating stories of Italy and its ancient wine culture. And you’ll confidently select the perfect Italian wines to pair with your next al fresco meal.

This live, interactive class takes place on Zoom. After signing up you’ll receive a series of emails from Annette Tomei with extra information, instructions for selecting a wine to taste along with the group during class, and ideas for food pairings to sample during the class session.
