OP: Lucky Peach Vol 1

Lucky Peach blossomed in 2011, offering from its very first issue a jazzy, irreverent, sharply intelligent take on the contemporary food scene. Fittingly for a magazine published under the auspices of Momofuku's David Chang, its initial issue focused on ramen, with instant ramen taste tests conducted by Ruth Reichl, a homemade ramen noodle recipe, and a profile of Ivan Orkin.

But there are wild diversions: a transcript of an alcohol-fueled discussion between Chang, Anthony Bourdain, and Wylie Dufresne about mediocrity in American kitchens; a hand-written egg recipe by Spanish master chef Juan-Mari Arzak; and a debunking of MSG-syndrome by Harold McGee.

Though out of print for many years now, Lucky Peach has remained impossible to imitate.

Paperback. Color photographs and illustrations throughout. This copy is second hand and shows some creasing to the cover and wear around the corners. Otherwise in Very Good shape.
