Georgian Art Kitchen

This small, handsome cookbook features the art of the renowned Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani and recipes which fall into two broad camps: traditional Georgian fare and recipes from other cultures which the author has enriched with Georgian contributions.

In the words of Oleg Skippari, "German potato salad comes alive with Jonjoli, a traditional Georgian appetizers made from sprouts. Tex-Mex chili con carne is enhanced with Satesbilii, a traditional Georgian sauce. To every international dish, I give a dash of Georgia in the form of spicy herbs or other Caucasian products."

But you will also find resolutely Georgian dishes such as green beans in walnut dressing,  crispy eggplant with tarragon and pomegranate, and persimmon chutney.
