by Craig Claiborne

Subtitled “A Memoir with Recipes,” this book consists of Claiborne’s recollections and observations about both his own life and the world of food into which he emerged and achieved major prominence. From the experience of recognizing his sexual orientation to his keen observations about the personalities of chefs and restaurateurs, he is open, accessible, and generally quite amusing.

We offer a stated first printing in Near Fine condition, save for some notes written on the rear free endpaper. The jacket, Very Good, is missing a bit of paper at the head and foot of the spine and around the corners. A great read to offer further insight on this highly influential figure in American culinary history.
