Did you know we have a cookbook club?
Sep 09, 2022
It all started in the dark days of 2020 when in-person events, including our Talks & Tastes series with our friends at the 92nd Street Y, almost disappeared. We looked for a fun and meaningful way to continue connecting the 92NY community with great cookbooks and their authors, and our cookbook group was born.
Well, what started as a pandemic pivot is now a beloved community of food enthusiasts and cooks who gather seasonally to explore cuisine, culture, and food history with our very own Annette Tomei.
Each season, Annette and Matt select a theme and four cookbooks that they think will challenge and delight participants with special attention to new releases. This online program is run by 92NY on their new platform, Roundtable.
Registration includes copies of all four books, cooking "assignments" and supplemental material from Annette, and four live 90-minute discussion sessions led by Annette with occasional guest authors and chefs over the course of 8 weeks.
Our current season begins on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 7 pm Eastern. The theme is The Diverse Flavors of Latin America. Registration is currently open. If you miss this seasons enrollment, you can follow along here on this blog for bi-weekly reports on each book.
Previous seasons' themes include:
- Classic and Modern
- Farmers Market Cooking
- Flavors of New York
- Cooking Off the Beaten Path
- Legendary Women Cookbook Authors, Part I
